Hello all! Welcome to my first book review post! Before I get into the book, I want to take a second and give you a small background in one type of book I typically like to read. I enjoy books that are suspenseful with a bit of mystery. I also like books by Christian authors. Faith based books are always a good choice for me. I tend to rely on this type of book now that I’m older with my own children. The reason I gravitate toward Christian authors is that their books tend to be more aligned with my personal values and beliefs. I feel safe choosing books from them. If your views differ, that’s totally fine. We can still be book buddies!

So, it should come as no surprise that my first posted review is on a book written by a Christian author. The book is called Chosen People by Robert Whitlow, and it is such a good read! I purchased this book after searching for Christian authors on one of my favorite websites, www.christianbook.com. They have so many great book selections.

Anyway, let’s get to it, shall we?

Chosen People is about a couple of Atlanta based lawyers who team up to bring justice to a terrorist who killed a woman in an attack in Jerusalem. The entire premise of the book is this particular case where so many lives were affected by the attack, including the woman, her husband and her daughter. The woman died in the attack while saving her daughter. The husband is now in search of justice for his family.

Whitlow beautifully entwines the lives of each character as he masterfully constructs their stories. Each main character has a background. One is a Christian Arab Israeli lawyer, another is a Jewish lawyer, and yet another is an Arab investigator. These three each have to rely on one another to make the case against the terrorist once they find the one responsible, but it’s an extremely dangerous situation. That’s where the suspense comes in.

I don’t know about you, but if you enjoy stories where the bad guy is always brought to justice and the good guy (or group) always wins, then you will definitely enjoy this book! I give it 5 stars and personally recommend this book to everyone who enjoys suspense novels. It was just so well written and beautifully constructed. The story line was on point, it was believable, it was detailed, it provided twists and turns in the plot, and it even included a little bit of love. All the boxes checked.

My next review will be the sequel to this book, called Promised Land by Robert Whitlow. Neither one of these books disappointed, and I cannot wait to share the next review with you!

Feel free to leave me a comment and let me know if you have read this book, are going to read it based on my review, or if you need any additional information about the book before you decide. Thanks for checking out my review!
